Denise M. (Dee) Anderson is a writer, speaker and educator. Presently an educational consultant in private practice (educationalconsultant@DMAnderson.net), she has held faculty positions at Brookdale Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University where she also directed a highly regarded freshman support program. An expert in her field, she has written, studied writing and taught writing throughout her life. “I know the challenges and rewards of working with students from all over the world and from all walks of life,” she says. Dee has won an award for her own poetry, which remains her passion, and continues research in expressive arts and integral studies.
A Jersey Shore girl by birth, she loves what poet William Carlos Williams calls the “gritty glamour of New Jersey,” from its natural beauty to historical richness, from the diversity of its people to cultural gems. “It is not unusual for me to be in Atlantic City one day and a New York City museum the next. Or to be on the beach on Saturday, then playing golf on Sunday in the rolling hills of Somerset County, what I call the Cotswolds of New Jersey. How can you beat this?”

Dee Anderson sees writing as a skill to be learned, a craft to be honed, an art to be pursued … with passion. “You are writing, writing is you. All of my programs are extremely respectful of the writer, whoever, wherever they are in their writing evolution, from the struggling student to the emerging writer to the seasoned professional who needs an objective eye. For me, writing was a natural gift, lovingly shaped by incredible teachers, mentors, models, heroes along the way. Still I learn more about my writing everyday and more about myself in the process. My personal mission is to provide opportunities for others to experience the tremendous, transformative nature of the writing process. I believe this happens whether working on academic, professional or creative writing. Sometimes we intentionally try to tap into the power of writing and sometimes it happens rather unexpectedly."
